An Island Hopping Adventure
We flew Northwest to St Lucia, the ‘Helen of the
West.’ A beautiful island with lush green
mountains. They boast the ‘Pitons,’ two towering
mountains springing from the coast. Their famous
beer, the Piton, is named after the peaks.
We bypassed the French colony/departments and
journeyed straight to Dominica, ‘The Nature Isle.’
I had to stop him there and tell him that my mom
was from Dominica but came to Montserrat as a
child of only 5 years. He said, ”Oh really that is
nice.”
He said Dominica is more of a natural type of
island and that there is not that much to see but
it’s lush greenery and its hills. It is absolutely
beautiful. I told him that one of these good days I
would really like to visit my mom’s place of birth.
My dad and I next stop was Montserrat, after
passing the French territory of Guadeloupe.
