Jack the Donkey

Jack smiled and exclaimed to himself, “This is my

opportunity to escape!” So, as soon as the
zookeeper was out of sight, Jack rushed out of the

paddock and hid behind the nearest clump of tall

thick bushes.

At about 9 o’clock that same night Jack jumped

over a low part of the zoo’s fencing and galloped

all the way back to High Hill. When he reached

High Hill, he was very happy to see his old home
again. He slept peacefully that night.
