Love in Fire
A group of persons was saying that a pyroclastic
flow occurred and it just wiped out Reid Hills and
that anyone there would be dead by now.
Immediately, I froze with fear. Reid Hills is where I
lived and where I last saw my mother. My heart
skipped a beat. Tears strolled down my cheeks as I
thought of the many opportunities I had to tell her
I loved her, but didn’t.
Suddenly, a noise came from the shelter’s door. To
my surprise, Mummy and Uncle John were
standing in the doorway. I rushed towards them.
“Mom I thought you were dead,” I said. “ It’s alright
darling, I’m right here,” she replied. I then realized
that I couldn’t have done anything without my
mom. From that day my mom and I became much
closer.
