A Home for Athalia
“That’s not fair Mom!” shouted Makayla.
“I wanted to have the room in the attic when it
was cleaned up and decorated.”
“You can have it then,” said Athalia. “I don’t want
to cause any trouble. I can sleep in the garage. It
would be warmer than the bus stop where I sleep
at nights.”
“You sleep at a bus stop” asked Makayla, “and
now you have a room and you would give it up?”
“Well, yes. I do not want to make you unhappy,”
replied Athalia.
“Mom, I’ve changed my mind. She can have the
room in the attic. She has nothing and would
give it up. I am sorry I was so selfish!” cried out
Makayla.
