A Home for Athalia

They started to question her and ask what she

was doing in their house. She explained that she
was a homeless orphan so she had to eat from

people’s garbage bins, but when she saw their

kitchen window open she had started coming

through it and eating during the day. She begged

them not to call the police and said she was sorry
over and over again.

When Makayla’s mom heard her sad life story, she

was touched. She started to cry and gave Athalia

a hug. “You can stay with us my dear. However

the only room available is the attic. Don’t worry

we will fix it up nicely for you over the weekend.”
