A Home for Athalia

She noticed that they put the trash out right after

eating. She told herself, ”Everyday from now on
I will eat from their garbage bin as soon as they

leave. Surely some tasty scraps must be in there!”

The next morning, Athalia saw Makayla’s family

leaving the house. She said to herself, “Ah-ha,
I wonder what was for breakfast? It’s time to find

out!” She found the garbage can outside the

kitchen at the back of the house, and ate her fill.

While there, she noticed that the kitchen window

was open. She decided to climb through and
explore the house.

Bam! She fell on the floor. She quickly stood up

and opened the stuffed refrigerator. It was like a

dream come true. “Look at this! I can have plenty
of food to eat from now on!” she exclaimed. After

she had explored most of the house she returned

to the kitchen and ate and ate until she felt like she

would pop. Then she climbed through the window

and went away.
