A Trip to the Wild

Some persons’ mouth dropped wide open, others

were laughing themselves to tears and there were
a few using their phones to capture the moment

for social media. The word about the animals’ little

trip spread throughout all the villages in

Montserrat.

When the group started to climb up to the Center

Hills it started to rain heavily. The waters rushed

down the hillsides faster than a speeding bullet.

The journey became difficult, especially for Caroline

the cow. Suddenly her feet began to slip as the
ground became soft and soggy and the force of

the water was unrelenting. She screamed in fear,

“Moo, mooooo”; the others ran to her rescue but

she was too big. “Save yourselves!” she exclaimed,

but the others would not leave her there. Alvin had
some wits about him and used tree vines and

quickly wrapped them around Caroline’s body. He

told Ivy to take one end and tie to a strong nearby

tree and Olivia and Gordon did the same. It was a

great heroic act and it helped to save Caroline the
cow from being pushed over the hillside to her
