A Trip to the Wild

Whilst up there he met his friend Olivia, the Oriole,

who lived in the Maple tree. He told her of his
journey and offered her an invitation to go along

with him and she accepted. She too took a gift for

Mark. They started again on their journey, Olivia

took to the sky navigating the way forward while

Alvin traversed the land following her directions.

Soon after, boredom set in and they began to race;

at first Alvin was in the lead but then Olivia quickly

caught up with him as there were no obstacles in

her way in the sky. So intent was Alvin on winning

that he took his eyes off the path to see where
Olivia was and... Bam! He slammed into what he

thought was a tree.

This strange tree went “Moo!” He suddenly realized

it was a mad, brown, stray cow named Caroline.
She chased Alvin up and down the cane field.

Olivia, being a good friend, distracted Caroline so

Alvin could run to a ghaut for safety. Alvin

considered himself lucky, both Alvin and Olivia

smiled at each other in amusement.
