monthly towards Kanamcli Municipal!ty-againol this certain extra

Kuharruq-the Ruler proposes to start a properly organised Kunicipali-
-ty in I’uharruq, towards which,the State w ill contribute Ro 1000
monthly instep of the sum liithorto paid.,ltcci:ikpts from Municipal
taxes will be on the some lines as already collected in Kanamoh.
6tern K. Expenditure. The State at present contributes Rs 1000
monthly to a school^ which is very badly managed & has few
pupils.The Ruler proposes to take over the management of this school ,
(it is nominally a State scliool but has been entirely managed hitherto
by a small party without State supervision) & to form two other schools,
There will be one elementary school in Man am eh S: one in Kuliarraq & a
i more advanced school in Ltahansui, Contribution to each elementary
school Ro 1000 & to the higher school Ro 2000 per mensem,Pending the
formstion of the schools the balance of s 3000 per mensem will
• -accumulate towards initial expenses of equipment.
The Ruler requests,in this connection,the assistance of H.li.G, &
! would be glad,if Government approvco,ifi an Bducatinal officer,with
s
experience of an Arab countty could be lent,on-deputation,to advise
& start the schools^ & thereafter to pay^ iaiyf two short annual visits to
conduct examinations & report 4n the schools, A separate letter on the
subject will be submitted.
Item R, Expenditure, Since the introduction of reforms & the formation

oi the Bahrain Court a number of eases have arisen in which it was
found that Shaik E^sa had,in late years,sold plots of land twice over,
or 3old land belonging to others without their knowledge ,T1ig only fair
settlement in a number of casco has been for the State to compensate
one of the parties. The Deputy Ruler has settled a number of such
casco during the last year.It is considered probable tliath in connect-

ion with the land settlement & record of righto a number of fresh
cases may come to light & it has be*, n thought prudent to allow a sum
for such purposes. The gaxKx property involved io generally not of
great value.
