                                    Reference your memorandum No. 113/9/2, dated the
                               23rd Ootobor i926, wj.th which woro encloocd two copioo
                               ol' the Bahrain State Budget Estimates for 1345, the
                               Hon'ble the political Resident has noticed that no
                               Estimates were submitted to thio ofl'ice for tho year
                               i344. He accordingly wishos that the actual figures for
                                that year should be summarised under the usual heads,

                               ana submitted to him, so that he may compare the figures
                               for the last 2 years.
                               2.   Your attention is also invited to the fact that in
                               September last, when the Hon'ble the political Resident
                               was in Bahrain, Hr. Belgrave furnished him with a cash
                                statement for 1344 showing an opening balance of
                                Rb. 6,00,320 and a closing balance of Rs. 5,38,487.
                                3.  Thooe figures differ materially from those shown as

                                the closing balance in the 1343 estimate, forwarded by
                                Major Daly with his memorandum No. 169/9/2, dated the,
                                11th July 1924, and as tho opening balance now shown for
                                1346.
                                4.   It is understood that the former discrepancy is due
                                to an excess of Rupees two lakhs in the customs Receipts,
                                and to the faot that a balance of Rupeos throe lakhs in
                                Bombay was brought into account, but tho oooond discrep­
                                ancy in the opening balance for 1345 io not understood.
                                5.   Your attention is also invited to the faot that

                                though tho income for tho year io only estimated at
                                Rb. 8,69,478, tho
                                                 expenditure totals Ro. 17,72,926.
