Customs. The length is 1360 feet and the width is 30 feet,
the.total cost of the road was Rs. 41,300/-. The road is very
well built on the sane style as the .one in Manama, with a
parapet on the sea side and slipways at intervals down to the
shore. It relieves the narrow bczaar roads from much of the
traffic and altogether it greatly improves the town.
Bazaars end Streets.
l!any of the roofs in the bazaars have been rebuilt and
raised and several streets have been widened both in the bazaar
end in the town itself. A contractor is employed for street
cleaning and the result of his efforts has caused a very great
change in the general cleanliness of the town.
Brains.
Several drains have been built from places in the town to the
sea which carry off the surplus water from artesian wells.
-Ur.icinal Election.
The election took place some time before the Kanama elections,
-ith the exception of one member all the Eujlis are local Arabs,
