Sir,
I have the honour to forward herewith the annual
report of the Bahrain State for 1349 together with new
Budget for 1350. This is the sixth budget which I
have had the honour of submitting to you.
The year 1349 has been a very disastrous one finan
cially, the revenue of the State has decreased to an
alarming extent, With the exception of work on the
lienamah-lduharraq. road, the building of the Quarantine S
and the payment of the balance of the Ihnamah Electric
scheme, no important new works have been carried out. :
It has been necessary to draw on the funds, which
are invested in Bombay, to the extent of Rs 1,70,000/-.
At the end of 1348 the total balance of the State,s
funds was Rs 3,40,365/- not including Rs 300,000/- reserve.

when making the budget for 1349 I was aware that the
year was likely to be a bad one and therefore I allowed
