GENERAL.
Dawasir• There are still no signs of the Duwasir tribe
wishing to return to Budeya though it is said that they
are discontented and oppressed by taxation on the main-
land. During the year Aluned bin Abdulla suggested to
H. E. Sheikh Earned that he might consider returning if
he was given a guarantee that his divers would not be
subject to the Bahrain diving laws, He was told that
this was impossible and since then the matter has not
been reopened.
li. S. Shaikh Earned is anxious that they should return
as he feels that it is somev/list of a disgrace that the
once thriving town of Budeya should be gradually falling
into ruins.
The position of the Dawesir Kakhudas and their
divers is such that the ilakhudas will never submit to be
subject to the Bahrain diving laws which forbid excessive
interest and various ot.ier illegal practices which are
enforced by the Bawasir.
l?ainland Arabs, Several tribes of Eat tar Arabs have
approached E. E. Shaikh Earned with a viev/ to migrating to
Bahrain. I. 2, Shaikh would like them to come to Ba-irain,
and increase the population, but as he does not wish to
injure the friendly relations between himself and Shaikh
Abdulla .alThani he has in ell cases given them non com
mittal replies and so fcr none of then have moved to
Bahrain. Tit., a little encouragement a very large number
of the ^attar Arabs would undoubtedly leave Matter and
settle permanently in 3ahrain.
Bahradn Subjects in Persia. There is a large population of
Shia Bahama resident in ^usbah and llobammereh. During
