                                by the Saouiiu government,    The Shia Bahrainis
                                visit Mecca less than they used to since about
                                 four years ago a tomb in Mecca which was much
                                 venerated by the Shias was destroyed by the

                                authorities in Mecca.
                                   4. The Khali rah family. The deaths occurred
                                 during the year of two prominent shaikhs of the

                                Ruling family, Shaikh .-.bdurrehman bin Abdulwahab
                                 and Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohomed. The former
                                 was a contemporary of Shaikh Isa and used to
                                 be known as his nazir. For seme years he had

                                 been in his second childhood. After his death
                                 there was a lew suit in the Bahrain Court in
                                 vhich his eight sons contested the validity of
                                 an alleged will which was produced by one of

                                 his grandsons. The will was proved to be
                                 a forgery. The property involved was valued
                                 at about two lacs of rupees.
                                      Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohomed was a brother

                                 of Shaikh P.ashid and one of the sons of Shaikh
                                 Kohomed bin Xhalifah who died in exile. He
                                 was better educated than any of the Xhalifah

                                 Shaikhs and. took great interest in happenings
                                 outside Bahrain and in European politics. He
                                 kept in touch with outside events by taking in
                                 a number cf periodicals from all parts of the
                                 world. He took no part in local affairs,

                                 beyond criticising the government. He died
                                 of diabetes which is a complaint that a great
                                 many of his family suffer from.
