                    graves were entirely constructed in beautifully veined and clear white marble,
                    while the headstones were generally inlaid with jasper tablets on which were
                    inscriptions surmounted by the Turkish insignia of a cap and a turban and
                    relieved by many elaborate and curiously executed devices’. The British Museum
                    today has no record of the tombstones presented by Leigh.
                      The Jewish burial ground (p. 195) lies on the Back Bay side of Main Pass to
                    Crater.
