             During the year the department took over the administration of eight new estates and dealt
        with thirteen compensation payments by the Bahrain Petroleum Company, distributing the amounts
        to heirs of the persons concerned. The estate eases were not of particular importance, the largest
        being valued at half a lakh.

             Rents were collected from 485 different properties, the total amount collected was Rs. 1,48,600.
        Repayment of loans amounted to Rs. 12,60,000, which was approximately 2 lakhs more than in
        1369. Interest on loans was Rs. 92,000.
             The Government made a loan of 2$ lakhs to the department.

             Sales, which included seven houses, two plots of ground, a shop and a printing press, produced
        Rs. 1,12,000. Rs. 19,500 was recovered from debtors to estates, this sum included a number of old
        diving debts.

             Allowances amounting to Rs. 1,03,000 were paid to 536 minors during the year. At the end
        of the year 62 minors received their full share in estates on attaining majority and 474 minors remained
        in the charge of the department.
            New properties to the value of Rs. 16,700 were bought and Rs. 62,800 was spent on the
        upkeep of properties under the department’s administration.
            During the year 16 lakhs were paid out in loans and Rs. 12,85,000 was outstanding from the
       previous year. From these sums the department has collected Rs. 12,60,000.
