Bills of Entry.—The total number of Bills of Entry dealt with was 28,648, an increase of 4,292 over 1370 :

Shipping.—Bills : The total number of Shipping Bills dealt with during the year amounted to 48,223, an
increase of 7,375 over 1370.
STATE ENGINEER’S DEPARTMENT

Electricity Undertaking :
The Power Station.—A new 650 k.w. Generating Set was completed and put into com
mission on 17th Ramadhan. This increased the total installed capacity of the station to 3,000 k.w.
Units generated amounted to 7,461,300, an increase pf 47 per cent, on the previous year,
and the supply was maintained without any major interruption.
Mains Department.—Early in the year four skilled linesmen were obtained from India in an
effort to speed up the connection of outstanding applicants for supply. The work of renewing
much of the old distribution system and the erection of new lines has proceeded steadily and the
new transmission system for Muharraq has made good progress.
The Royal Air Force Station was given a supply of 200 k.w., 67 new Street Lamps were
erected in various districts and 660 new consumers connected, bringing the total number of
consumers to 3,615. The total additional load connected was 1,175 k.w.

will be undertaken in 1372.
