Type 6 Type 7
Both Ordinary and Service sets, when postal/y used, bear Type 5, 6
or 7 cancellations which were introduced at the time of, or shortly after,
the issue of the overprinted stamps. There was, however, only occasional
postal use for values above 8a., and the Rupee values of both sets were
almost entirely used for telegrams and were cancelled with Type 4. The
‘Service' stamps were used only by the Political Agency and the Rupee
values arc scarce even telegraphically used and rare postally used.
Type 6 was intended for back-stamping and is only rarely found
used to cancel stamps: right through to 1941 Types 5 and 7 arc more
usually found cancelling stamps on postal items.
