HEEL KICK
Combatives
Heel kick can be made when the defender is sideways to the target, but when the
opening is not on an angle appropriate to a Side Kick (page 156). The kick may
be made on a rising diagonal or on a horizontal plane, depending on the
opening.
STARTING POSITION: Stand sideways to your target.
1. Raise your close leg slightly in front of the target, making sure your leg is
relatively straight. As your foot rises, bend your torso over your outside hip. This
will allow your leg to rise as high as necessary.
