EDGED WEAPON TOUCHING OR AT
SHORT DISTANCE OFF THE BODY
Edged-Weapon Threats
THREAT: The assailant is close to you and presents the knife to the front of
your body.
DANGER: The knife may be touching you or simply held close to your body.
The knife is not necessarily held statically—the assailant may be moving it
around, giving directions, pointing, threatening, etc. The assailant may wish to
move you to another location.
SOLUTION: Because of the proximity of the threat, you should attempt to
control the weapon hand and counterattack aggressively.
