On Tuesday, 26th February the Emirates
team hosted over 50 eager culinary
students from Havering College.
The day began with an overview of Delaware North,
the operation we undertake, and a focus on the
potential future the students could have within
Delaware North & the catering industry. This was
followed by the sharing of some career stories to
inspire them.
After the introductions, students got hands on with
activities led by Kapil Kaushik - Executive Head
Chef, and Tommy Fairhall - Head Chef, Diamond
Club.
The students were walked through different spices
by Kapil and shown various cooking & plating
techniques by Tommy – there was even ice cream
made from tomatoes!
Following on from the culinary experience, students
were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of Emirates
Stadium.
The day was rounded off with a Mocktail superclass
taught by Malak Ahmed (Assistant Food & Beverage
Operations Manager) and her team. Students were
taught to make three classic mocktails; Bloody Mary,
Mojitos, and an Old Fashioned.
All students left with hospitality skills, inspired to
continue their journey in hospitality.
