Highly Deserved Recognition for Part-
time Delaware North UK Detective.

Mariam Adamu was recently recognised by Profit
Protection and Delaware North’s Corporate Security
team in the US, following some fantastic work that
resulted in apprehension of a group of people ‘doing
wrong’.

Mariam initially contacted Nigel Goodwin,
Delaware North’s Head of Profit Protection in the
UK after she received contact from an individual on
Delaware North’s Facebook account, alleging theft
from one of our venue’s.

Mariam had already taken the initiative and
engaged with the person to obtain more details.
This alone presented a challenge, given that all
correspondence was in Spanish!

During the weeks that followed, Mariam maintained
contact with the individual, each time translating
her message into Spanish and then the reply into
English. As a result, we were able to establish that
the allegation centred on Los Angeles airport.

Thanks to Mariam’s work, Nigel had enough
information to pass onto Dennis Thomas, Delaware STAND COME
North’s Head of Corporate Security.
UP TOGETHER
Mariam then liaised with Dennis to obtain some
further details. His team were able to act on this
and complete a successful investigation that resulted
in identification, admission and apprehension of
staff at LAX airport for significant stock theft that
spanned several months.

When Mariam first reported this, we could never
have known the part Mariam would subsequently
play in bring this crime to such a successful
outcome!

Mariam truly lived by several of our core values in
this matter. Standing up, coming together and most
definitely doing right. Well done!
