Please accept my enclosed resume for the position of Director of Administration Services / Clerk of the Board for
Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District. After reviewing the job announcement on your website, I am thrilled to be
applying for the position of Director of Administrative Services / Clerk of the Board, as I believe I possess the
necessary skills and experience the District is seeking and that I would make a valuable addition to the Vallejo
Flood and Wastewater District.
As my resume shows, I have more than 19 years of progressive experience as the Administrative Services
Director/City Clerk in two Municipalities. I earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk in 2006 and the
designation of Master Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2011.
In my current position as Administrative Services Director/City Clerk for the City of Hercules, I perform all
functions of the City Clerk’s office and in addition, I oversee Human Resources, Risk Management, Information
Technology and the supervision of four (4) staff members.
My ability to work as a team player, meet deadlines and go the extra mile together with my attention for detail
have contributed to the successes in my career. I have performed a wide variety of activities including recruiting,
hiring and training of personnel, program development, policy development and project management. I possess
extensive knowledge with the Ralph M. Brown Act, Public Records Act, Political Reform Act and laws related to
the conduct of consolidated municipal elections. In addition, I possess extensive familiarity with EEO, FMLA and
ADA law in California.
An effective organizer and planner with a history of meeting goals and objectives, I am able to interact well with
staff members at all levels as well as with elected officials, candidates and recruits. What I would bring to any
position includes effective communication skills, written as well as oral, leadership and team-building ability, and a
proven commitment to first-rate service and satisfaction.
