Peace Corps Volunteer September 2000 - December 2002
▪ Designed and taught an environmental studies curriculum for 90 high school students at a
high school in Puerto Cabezas
▪ Awarded a grant from the US Agency for International Development for $2,400 to
purchase environmental education textbooks and to instruct teachers in 24 urban schools
in their use
▪ Co-founded a two-day cultural festival in the capital that showcased the art, music, food,
and dance of the ethnic groups of Nicaragua's Caribbean coast
