Dear Sir/Madam:

I am very excited to engage in the prospect of directing the department of public utilities.
I have a solid history in Management and the delivery of service to the public.

Simply put I produce results. In the time I have been with the City of Fresno the Solid
Waste Management division has lived well within our budget. I have successfully
managed a staff in the division’s height of 298 people, and I deal effectively with
customers, council, city management, County Staff, and the Mayor’s staff on a regular
basis. In the past three years I have proficiently outsourced half of the operation as
directed by executive city management, managed 20 non-exclusive roll off franchise
agreements, and 2 exclusive commercial franchises. While overcoming these challenges
I have also reduced our payment of employees for nonproductive hours from over 17000
hours to zero all while managing to place over a million dollars into our reserves.

As a member of a team I also understand the nuisances that make up a great organization.
I understand the definition of what a true civil servant is and attempt to immolate it to all
stakeholders internal and external. An interview would give me the chance to further
prove my unique strengths and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss them.
