1. Why are you interested in the Financial Analyst role?

Wendy recently graduated with her MBA with an emphasis in Accounting and is looking to
get her CPA within the next few years.

2. Please tell me about your current position and its day­to­day responsibilities.

Wendy is currently in the accounts receivable department and does entry level accounting
work. She assists families to apply for medical assistance from insurance companies.

3. What do you know about the City of Big Bear Lake and the Department of Water and
Power?

She researched a bit online and looked at the community as an option to move there if she is
considered for the opportunity.

4. What relevant accounting experience do you have that would allow you to succeed in this
role?

She has performed reconciliation of accounts, A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliation. She just recently
graduated with a concentration in Accounting and all those classes and practices are still fresh.

5. The right candidate will be a long­term fit, how do you get the message across that you are
that candidate?

Wendy views this as a tremendous opportunity and would make a long­term commitment to the
City. She is also going to pursue her CPA and there is an hours requirement under the CFO that will
factor into her licensing as well.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest professional strength?

She is organized and timely. She has never missed a deadline.
