General Questions
1. Why are you interested in the Financial Analyst role?
Doris is interested in this role because she was doing this very job for the Valley Electric
company. She opened her own business and attempted to do it on her own. She loved
doing the job before attempting her own venture.
2. Please tell me about your current position and its daytoday responsibilities.
She oversaw 2 other analysts and would review their work. Doris was responsible for contract
overview and approved the specs of contracts. She also closed work order processes, reconciled
billing, handle CWIP meetings, review budgets, hold manager meetings, data mining (SQL to Excel),
and reporting.
3. What do you know about the City of Big Bear Lake and the Department of Water and
Power?
She is very familiar with the DWP due to them having owned the Electric Department years
ago. She loves the community and has been a part of it for decades.

4. What relevant accounting experience do you have that would allow you to succeed in this
role?
Doris has a bachelors in accounting from UCSB. She has been doing accounting for 25 years, starting
as a bookkeeper and then elevating through the ranks from year to year. She has worked through
new accounting software and has a great foundation that would allow her to flourish in the role. She
has touched every aspect of accounting.
5. The right candidate will be a longterm fit, how do you get the message across that you are
that candidate?
Doris has no intention to leave Big Bear Lake. She loves it there and would retire with this job.
6. What do you consider to be your greatest professional strength?
Her ability to work accurately and multitask are her greatest strengths as an accountant.
