City of Carson, California
Director of Public Works

The City of Carson, California is a thriving community of approximately 94,000 located within an area of 19
square miles. Carson contains 263 lane miles, is essentially bounded by 4 freeways, and impacts 3 watersheds.
Carson is governed by the Mayor and four Council members. The City's 2018/19 annual budget is nearly $74
million.
As a member of the Executive Management Team, I am charged with the oversight of 140 employees and the
delivery of public works services administration. I also provide high level support to the City Manager who is
responsible for the development and administration of budget as well as all daily operations of the City.
Select Accomplishments
• Developed a new fee structure for the pipeline franchise, increasing annual revenue by 100%
• Transitioned to a new 15 year solid waste franchise agreement
• Provided the foundation for the implementation of the City’s initial Development Impact Fee
• Initiated Citywide participation in the Clean Power Alliance Community Choice Aggregation
• Completed a $22 million downtown revitalization project
• Selected and implemented a new Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Attained SCE Energy Leadership Program Platinum status
• Obtained more than $30 million dollars in state and federal grants within a two year period
