DUTIES

        Assist the Director in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising overall functions of the public works department;
       Plan, organize and direct the staff and daily activities of the transportation division specifically, and other divisions street
       maintenance, building & facilities/parks, and contract services-42FTE;
       Oversee and monitor the department's budget of $10M and professional services contracts such as water O &M, trash, industrial
       waste, street sweeping, traffic signals, engineering, and transit.
       Negotiate franchise agreements related to trash, pipelines, bus shelters.
       Implement phone system upgrade for transit dispatch services from analog to digital, message system, & queue system.
       Implement budget allocation form to better track capital project transfers.
       Organize special events such as toilet giveaways, equipment shows, National Public Works Week events.
       Manage citizen complaints and resolution process for the department; investigate complaints to determine facts, conducts field
       inspections if necessary to identify problems and corrective actions required; prepare written responses to citizens and other parties.
       Assist in identifying and implementing ongoing training and teambuilding processes to enhance the morale and service delivery
       capabilities of department.
       Represent the Department and the Director before the City Council, boards and commissions, at community meetings, regional and
       local meetings on various departmental issues, and on inter-departmental working groups.
       Select, train, evaluate, counsel and discipline employees.
       Assume the duties of the Director of Public Works in his absence.

        Serve as Engineering Division Administrative Manager (Administrative & Financial Operations including accounting, budgeting,
       personnel, office support, insurance, risk management, records management, and purchasing)
