Manage  citizen  complaints  and  resolution  process  for  the  department;  investigate  complaints  to  determine  facts,
               conducts field inspections if necessary to identify problems and corrective actions required; prepare written responses
               to citizens and other parties.
               Assist in identifying and implementing ongoing training and teambuilding processes to enhance the morale and service
               delivery capabilities of department.
               Represent the Department and the Director before the City Council, boards and commissions, at community meetings,
               regional and local meetings on various departmental issues, and on inter-departmental working groups.
               Select, train, evaluate, counsel and discipline employees.
               Assume the duties of the Director of Public Works in his absence.

               Prepare & secure transportation grants
               Prepare staff reports, weekly manager's memos, letters, press releases, give presentations at community events
               Conduct cost assessment/impacts & make recommendations on division re-organization
               Research, report, and make recommendations on legislative issues and grants
               Prepare all cooperative agreements with various agencies (Cities, County, State, Federal)
               Negotiate & oversee the creation and installation of artwork for the City
               Secured funding for the installation of 75kw solar panel system
               Manage all personnel matters for the department (recruitment, screening, interviewing, re-classifications)
               Representative for management association (non-bargaining group)
               Manage Division web pages as the website administrator
               Serve as Department spokesperson and liaison to the public at city, neighborhood meetings and community events
               Gave interviews with local newspapers and local news channels (KCAL 9, CBS 2, cable 3)
