The Safety Manager should have the the capability to to lead – not only departmental safety coordinators but also the the Executive Safety Committee comprised of senior-level staff such as the the City Manager Department Heads and the the Risk Manager This includes the ability to communicate safety concerns and provide actionable recommendations at at all levels from operations to executives on on safety safety issues and setting safety safety priorities Previous work experience in in a a a a a a a fast-paced solutions-oriented public sector organization would be ideal Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations infectious disease protocol Worker’s Compensation and knowledge of safety-related best practices

issues intersect and be comfortable giving direction when the solution is is a a a a a a a a priority Strong analytical skills in in in data management management claims management management statistical analysis and and and interpretation Microsoft Excel and and and PowerPoint and and and the ability to to interpret material data create and and communicate meaningful reports concerns and and issues are crucial to to the success of the Safety Manager QUALIFICATIONS
» Bachelor’s degree from an an accredited college or or or or or university with major course work in in occupational health and safety industrial hygiene or a a a a related field » Six (6) years of of increasingly responsible experience in in in area of of environmental health and and safety and and loss prevention program » » One (1) year of administrative and staff supervision » » A certification such as a a a a a a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable
