Notes On Usage
Index of Titles: All titles contain the root covered by the corresponding story, and each
one is colored according to one of the twenty categories in which it is placed.
Stories: Many multi-syllabic words are broken into syllables and separated by raised dots.
The syllabication reflects pronunciation and it does not necessarily reflect the
hyphenation as seen in dictionaries.
Families: Every spelling of a root word is printed in a different color. The plus sign (+)
indicates an alternate pronunciation.
Phonics Charts: Charts 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b and 3c are too used in tandem with one another.
The various color codes and numbers reflect the spellings of identical sounds.
