Story 132

                                            What Is Causing the Stir?

“ Sir, can you tell me what spurs the squirrels to stir? I have never

seen them so busily whir. They are like a blur. Nor have I heard them

so noisily chirr. They jump about the oaks and firs, as though their

               coats have thistles and burs.”

The man replied to her, “ Does it not occur to you, that you can no

longer hear a cat purr ? Do you not know there is a high price on fur,
even the fur of a cur ? Now answer, what should a squirrel infer, seeing

your coat of rabbit fur ?”

                                                       Herbal Tea

Miss Lee could not curb, her yearning for this tea - a tea superb, as

says the blurb. And because her stomach is easy to disturb, as is her

smile to perturb, to buy it Herb would travel to the city from miles

beyond the suburb, somewhere in the exurb.

But Herb who tired of traveling, now grows the herb, between his

               sidewalk and the county curb.
