"Sir, could you put some wood, into my car's hood ?" asked Mrs. Wood.
"Certainly lady, handling wood, is my livelihood." he said.
"Well . . . then . . . why don't you?" barked Mrs.Wood, in apt
womanhood.
He replied, "Do you mean could, or do you mean, would ?"
"EXCUSE Me!" she shouted, " I DO MEAN WOULD!"
"Oh!" he responded, " I would, as I said I could, but I don't think I
really should. You see, your engine, is already in your hood !”
At this she screamed,
"At ONCE SILLY BOY, STOP THE FOOLHARDIHOOD!
I MEAN MY TRUNK, AND NOT MY HOOD !
DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD."
