Story 121
The Reeses
Old man Reese lived with his little niece,
Bernice, outside of Nice.
On their farm, that had a 99-year lease, they raised a few geese. They
also raised sheep for their beautiful fleece, which they sold to the
best tailors of Greece to make pants that never lose their crease.
Year in and year out their hard work did not cease. But the hard work
made their profits increase and their worries decrease. Therefore,
the two were able to live in peace until that final day on which Mr. Reese
finally did decease.
Story 122
The East
I have been to the North, South, West, and East,
And it is the East that I like the least.
There their priests hold sacred the four-legged beast.
Therefore, chicken with rice and bread with yeast,
Is their one and only singular feast!
