Meet your Directors, Anand Karia

Anand Karia has served as our President since the formation of UCMAS
North America in March, 2004.

A Computer Engineer, Anand Karia has been instrumental in developing several
IT related businesses like Computer Software training, Computer Hardware
training, SAP training and other educational products worldwide.

Although a Computer Engineer by qualification, Anand has also shown a lot of
interest in Arts, which is his passion. He has tried his hand at Painting and has
painted about 10 paintings – Oil on Canvas and Acrylic on canvas. His interest in
Arts has also pushed him into his other passion – that of photography. Since childhood, Anand has
been also an avid sportsman and has gone on to play sports like Tennis, Cricket and Swimming,
where he has been fortunate to go up to State Level I swimming, City Champion in Tennis and Uni-
versity team in Cricket.

Ever since UCMAS was launched, first in India and later on in Canada in 2004, Anand has worked
hard to make UCMAS a household name in North America. His affinity towards Technology helps
UCMAS keep updated with Technology giving it the perfect combination of Eastern Philosophies
with Western Techniques. A strong logical mind along with an affinity towards Arts gives him a
balanced view of business processes and strategies.

Today, Anand acts as the Managing Director of our group of companies in India – Omnisoft Technol-
ogies Pvt Ltd, which deals with IT and skills development programs and also UCMAS India Opera-
tions. He also serves as the President of UCMAS Canada, UCMAS USA and UCMAS Mexico.
Anand dreams of making UCMAS the most sought after Education program in North America. His
passion for the UCMAS program, bundled with his extensive experience in Franchising (22 years)
gives him an edge and he loves passing on his experience to budding business people. His simplistic
and transparent explanation of this business gives a lot of confidence to people wanting to join this
business and this has been instrumental in taking UCMAS from a single entity in 2004 to a network
of about 70 locations across North America.

On a personal side, by the time Anand completed his Graduation in Computer Engineering, he got
introduced to Megha and cupid struck. After a few years of courtship, Anand and Megha decided to
take the plunge and be a family. Marriage bells rung in 1999
and 3 years later, they were blessed with a boy – Arush in 2002.
Life has been a whirlwind tour since then when they decided
to move to Canada in 2004 and start the UCMAS operations
there. After launching the UCMAS operations in 2004 and sign-
ing up the first few franchisees in Canada, Anand and his family moved to India in late 2005 for a
couple of years, returning to Canada in early 2008. Since then,
they have been involved in taking UCMAS to the next level. 2008
and 2009 saw a record number of franchisees joining the family and has been on a steady growth
since. Anand owes his business acumen, transparency and simplicity to his Dad, Mr Vinay Karia, the
Chairman of the business group. Anand’s mom, Asha Karia, is the heart of the whole business group
and she too was actively involved in the business till a few years back. Now, both Parents have
taken a back stage and have encouraged both their sons and daughter-in-laws to take centre stage
and take the business to the next level. Anand is very close to both his parents and has driven tre-
mendous inspiration from his Dad’s fight with the difficulties in life. Anand’s dad has taught him
never to give up and keep fighting till the last breath.
