Healthcare Information Management Offshoring Event in New York

Nicanor Bautista, invited prospective American health
investors and executives to the Philippines during the
recently held Philippine Healthcare Information
Management (HIMS) Business Process Offshoring forum
held at Kalayaan Hall, Philippine Center.
Undersecretary Terrado led a 17-company
Consul General Dizon-de Vega joined by the Consulate’s officers host a dinner for the delegation from the Healthcare Information Management
Philippine Delegation headed by Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) who travelled from
the Philippines to New York for the first leg of a multi-city
roadshow, including Orlando, Houston, and San Francisco, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry and its
overseas offices, the Board of Investments (BOI) in cooperation with Philippine Consulates General in the US. BOI Director
Angelica Cayas also formed part of the delegation.
In New York, the forum attracted 50 American companies and individuals from the healthcare and medical insurance
industry who listened to presentations by Undersecretary Terrado on Philippine economic updates, HIMAP President Cristina
Coronel on Philippine offshoring opportunities and HIMS Roadmap 2022 as well as Philippine case study presentations on
Revenue Cycle Management by Myla Rose Reyes (SPI Global); on Pharmaceutical/Life Science by Ma. Cristina Coronel
(Pointwest Technologies Co.); on Health IT by Vincent Remo (Advanced World Solutions); and on Customer Service by Phil
Taylor (KMC Solutions, USA).
A testimonial presentation entitled A US Company’s Offshoring Experience in the Philippines was shared by Mr.
John Chess. Managing Director, KMC Solutions, which was followed by a Third-party Assessment of Philippines as a leading
location for HIMS Services by Sakshi Garg, Practice Director, Everest Group.
In the evening, Consul General De Vega tendered a dinner for the Philippine delegation at the Philippine Center.
Tanduay Rum Launches Historic Deal with the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center
In a major overseas deal, Tanduay Distillers, Inc. launched on March
12, 2017 at the 40/40 Club of Barclays Center a landmark partnership with the
Barclays Center, one of the major multi-event arenas in the US and NBA’s
Brooklyn Nets Team.
The partnership designates Tanduay Rum as the official rum of Barclays
Center and the Brooklyn Nets. Tanduay Rum will likewise be the presenting
sponsor of the popular 40/40 Club and Restaurant located in Barclays Center.
In addition, the deal also provides that Tanduay will be the Barclay
Center’s associate sponsor for its Brooklyn Show platform and will be visible in
strategic areas of the arena. The new partnership will also have Asian-inspired
cocktails mixed with Tanduay Rum and prepared by New York’s top mixologists
in the arena’s bars.
During the March 12 launch, Tanduay Rum was prominently presented
in various commercial breaks and sponsorship imaging and signage at Barclays
Center. A Tanduay commercial was likewise aired during the Brookly Nets
versus New York Knicks game.
The official post-game launch held at the 40/40 Club now renamed the
