The Administration team is responsible for support functions at CSCS. These include cost management
reporting, program management, information technology, data analytics, process improvement,
communications, membership services, accounting, finance, auditing, compliance, legal, and human
resources.
With the integration of restaurant POS sales and Brand recipes into our data warehouse, we completed
the first five-year CSCS technology roadmap with a focus on end-to-end supply chain visibility. The new
universe of data will unlock untapped potential in how we work and make decisions, starting with a tool ADMINISTRATION
developed this year that consolidates Brand forecasts and creates an aggregated supply plan by item by
week for use by our distributors and suppliers. Advancements in our cloud-based computing platform
reduced the dependence on external systems and enabled over $1MM in CSCS G&A savings over the next
five years. Finally, the refreshed technology roadmap includes exciting new ways to leverage data over
the next five years, including role-driven intelligence, Member-facing dashboards and reports, and a new
approach for increasing collaboration with our external partners.
As our dependence on multiple data sources grows, so does the need for managing the quality of that data.
Last year saw the development of a more disciplined data management program, creating additional quality
audits and automating many tasks to drive efficiencies. We continue to expand the policies, practices, and
procedures that proactively manage the data lifecycle needs of CSCS and its Members, with a primary
objective being overall data quality measured by accuracy and timeliness.
The organization’s strategic plan in 2018 was focused on “Wildly Important Goals”
which included delivering results from the Restaurant Profitability Initiative. The
enhanced operations dashboard was used to measure critical day-to-day activities and
continuous improvement efforts. The same approach was used to create the 2019 " the new
strategic plan, creating organization momentum to advance the technology roadmap universe of data
and create a refreshed distribution strategy to navigate the growing industry issues in
that area. will unlock

Improving Member communication was an objective in 2018, resulting in several
improvements to the CSCS website and mobile application. A new communications potential in how
strategy was also developed to increase the effectiveness of the CSCS newsletters – we work.
look for these changes in the first part of 2019! The Apple Co-op Board of Directors "
and the Board committees also met throughout the year to provide oversight and
guidance on the Co-op’s activities to ensure proper alignment with Member interests.
In addition, in 2018 we maintained several distributor programs to ensure balanced
pricing was realized across all Members, received clean audit opinions for the ninth
year in a row, tackled hundreds of information technology requests, conducted our fifth annual employee
engagement survey, conducted our seventh annual Member Maniac week, maintained 100% membership in
the Apple Co-op, and the list goes on. In addition to the team’s daily responsibilities, we are looking forward
to 2019 and the opportunities to continuously improve our processes and programs resulting in increased
value for our Members.
