resources to obtain current best practices. At times, a lack of information is available to guide practice.
           This was evident with the 2014 Ebola outbreak when Infection Preventionists across the United States
           were tasked with writing plans regarding an emerging organism that we knew little about. It is during
           these times that expert consensus is sought and gut instincts based on sound epidemiological and
           scientific principles take precedence. At the national APIC Conference in 2015, it was said best by
           the speaker that “Infection preventionists worked with and connected to others to figure out what to
           do when there was no rule book…often providing the calm voice of evidence-based reason” (APIC,
           2015). This calm voice of evidence-based reason is how I promote the field of infection prevention in all
           guidance and recommendations that I offer.
           Accomplishments

           Over the past decade, I have contributed to my organization’s success in infection prevention related
           activities. I have attached my resume which lists my experiences. However, I realize that it may not
           be all-inconclusive of my work in the field of Infection Prevention. I am listing some of my biggest
           accomplishments below.
               • Board Certified in Infection Control through the Certification Board of Infection Control and
               Epidemiology, Inc., since 2009
               • Recognized as a Knowledge Expert by APIC at their annual conference in Nashville, TN, in 2015

               • Moderator of two sessions (Measles, Construction Update) at APICs annual conference in
               Nashville, TN, in 2015
               • Selected by APIC to serve a three term on their Professional Development Committee 2015-2017

               • Elected to serve on the Nominating Committee of Greater St. Louis APIC chapter in 2009
               • Member of the Cape Girardeau County Infectious Disease Task Force

               • Registered volunteer with the Show-Me Response Registry of Volunteer Healthcare Professionals
               (Disaster response)

               • Volunteered to assist Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center with mass influenza
               vaccinations 2011
               • Current 4.0 grade point average at American Sentinel University MSN-Infection Prevention and
               Control Specialization
               • Led organization through Ebola preparedness and planning measures in 2014 with recent
               participation in Missouris State Emergency Management Agencys Ebola update

               • Led organization in improving patient influenza vaccination status in 2015 with improvement from
               84% CMS compliance to currently 99.4%

               • Recommended and led an employee influenza vaccination campaign where vaccination rates
               improved from 40% of direct patient care staff to a now mandatory program
               • Assisted organization with implementation of HOUDINI protocol for assessing appropriateness of
               indwelling urinary catheters with decreased device utilization by half from baseline
