Using guest’s names

When a guest places a takeaway order, we will always get their first
name to identify them when their order is ready.

In hospitality, one of the most valuable instruments for increasing
revenue is making a connection with the guest. Requesting a first
name from the customer when completing take away orders allows
an instant connection to be made, establishing a genuine relationship
        with them.

        • When a customer orders takeaway items, politely ask for their first
name. “Can I pop your name on the order please?” or “Could I please
get a name for the order?”

        • Don’t be embarrassed to ask a second (or third!) time or for the
correct spelling. “Was that Geoff? Do you spell it with a G or J?” or
“That’s an interesting name, could you spell that for me?”\

        • If two takeaway customers, close together, have the same name, use
an initial to differentiate between the two.

Asking for the correct spelling or clarification on the name shows that

you are genuinely interested in getting it right. It all comes back to
        connecting with the customer.

Requesting names with orders helps you to identify regular guests and
establish meaningful connections. Ensure you utilise this opportunity!
