Novel 5th generation capabilities will transform defence
systems, delivering high volumes of rapidly produced

Australia’s security posture. An essential element of the
transition to a 5th generation force is to enable a fully
secure networked Air Force operating freely in the cyber-
domain – as envisioned in Plan Jericho.
On-boarding sovereign quantum cyber-security
solutions will be an important component of this improved
infrastructure, protecting sensitive communications and
critical information resources. As the cyber-threat of
quantum computers emerges over the next few years,
QUANTUM CYBER-SECURITY quantum cyber-security will become an essential tool
in our defence arsenal, allowing us to fully leverage the
benefits of our advanced ELINT and SIGINT capabilities.
