The Silk Ribbon
High school is the most exciting, memorable and wise time for everyone on the world. That is the fact
that no one can doubt. Mia is a girl like others thrilled to enter high school and mostly for the prince with
white horse of her dream.
One day, the school announced that prom is coming soon. As soon as Mia heard that shocking news, she
wondered and worried about what to wear; who she will go with; what if she had no partner to go
together; how she will look in her dress, and if she will look fine. You might feel for that little girl since it
is challenging for every teenager, also it is the first time for Mia and she considered it to be more special.
When she wandered down the town stores, the one breath-taking dress watched her eyes without letting
it go. The navy-blue, elegant one. Even though she truly wanted to buy that dress, it was too expensive.
Fortunately, she had a skill to make and design clothes for herself. She decided that making a dress by
herself was not an impossible task to accomplish. Her next big worry was finding a partner. The school
council warned if someone came by themself, they wouldn’t be allowed to attend. This was also not
impossible. She was just too annoyed to do a promposal or wait for someone to prompose to her. She
decided to leave her silk ribbon somewhere at the school. A ribbon was given to every girl at their school
and the girls could give it to a prince that she wanted to go to the prom with. If the prince accepted, they
could tie it to their shirt pocket.
Prom day had come. She wondered who got her silk ribbon. Outside the entrance, the crowd was there,
and she had finally seen her silk ribbon on someone’s suit. She called him, “Hey!”. They made eye-contact
and he was not bad at all. He was handsome, warm-looking, and had a good smile. She couldn’t keep her
heart from pounding, as she fell in love. Just like she dreamed, he was wearing a pearl-white suit. They
danced and talked about every topic they could, and then they both liked each other. Yet, she had a lot
of duties to finish at home before their parents came back from the work trip, so she had no other choice
but to leave.
Happily, after that prom, they met to get to know each other deeply. As you may predict, that was true
love. Movie scenes can also happen in a phenomenon, and become a real-life “Cinderella story.”
