The Prize

It was the first week of summer, I just started my sschool break nad was feeling

the freedom after the horrible exams. I was watching TV on the couch, being lazy

all day, and eating fast food. THis became my normal schedule for every day.

Everything changed when I decided to go out though.

First of all, I wasn’t happy about going out but my friend kept calling me to hang

out. I arrived at the theater one hour early because of my old watch. The first few

minutes weren’t boring at all since I was scrolling on my phone and chatting with

my friends. Suddenly, my data went out, and that was when I realized that I

would be bored until the movie with my friend. I was searching for something fun

to do in the theater, and I saw a game that had a huge money prize.

The game was like a gambling game where you need to guess the correct number

on the screen five times; if you guess correctly, the prize will be yours. I know that

I’m lucky, so I decided to try it. I guessed three of the five numbers correctly, and

then guessed the fourth number correctly. I started thinking I had won, and what

I should do with the prize money--what could be changed? Now I only needed to

guess the fifth number correctly, and I guessed that it was seven. The screen was

loading and I started feeling stressed and happy at the same time, but it was an

incorrect answer.

My friend arrived at that time, but I still had stress all over my face. He didn’t care

at all and spent the whole day with me. At the end of the day, the money wasn’t

the prize, but having a friend to spend the day with.
