Choosing a Career That Brings Happiness
Choosing a Career That Brings Happiness
If you had to choose between living a comfortable life and hate doing your job, or be
excited to do your job everyday and have a cheaper lifestyle, which one would you choose?
Some people say happiness does not rely on income, instead, it relies on if the person is
doing what they enjoy or not.
Doing a job that you are passionate about has numerous advantages. The people who
work in this way are shown to have more job satisfaction than the people who do not. They
have also mentioned that working feels like they are doing one of their hobbies. In other
words, working is like having free time for them. Furthermore, enjoying the job increases
their job efficiency and results in more output of work per time. This could actually result
in more income, which illustrates that doing what you like does not entirely mean to earn
less than average.
Conversely, doing a job that pays well has many good sides as well. Even though they
do not enjoy their jobs as much as the people who do what they fancy, they tend to have
more luxurious lifestyles. Some of them said that they feel happiness while doing the
activities with the money they have made, regardless of not relishing their jobs.
In my point of view, feeling the excitement, and euphoria while doing your job will result
in better overall mood, and long-term happiness than a high-salary job. Having less stress,
and a smile lightening on your face are also the reasons why long-term happiness is
achieved when you are doing a job that you are fond of.
