Stranded at Sea
Have you ever wondered what it was like to be stranded on a medium sized boat alone with nothing but
basic supplies to survive? Well, if you haven’t, I wouldn't blame you but it is the situation I am currently
stuck in. The boat I am currently afloat on looks like it's from the 60's and is about to break down at any
moment. The paint was rubbing off from the deck slowly revealing the color of the planks used to make
it.
The sun dipped below the horizon casting a beautiful golden glow, it was about to get dark soon, the
nights are usually calm but not today. Storm raged on throughout the night the ship was rocking nonstop,
having dealt with this multiple times throughout my journey across the ocean I knew what I had to do. As
I walked on deck wobbling, with each step I was getting dizzier, but I knew if I couldn't withstand this
there would be not tomorrow for me. Adjusting the sails was tough enough as it was usually a job
determined to a group of people, but I had no right to complain right at this moment.
As soon as the storm calmed, I passed out on deck.
As soon as I woke up my eyes stung with the bright light. Not losing my sense of time was not difficult as
there was a grandfather clock in the storage room that hadn't missed a spare second ever since I was
onboard. Wanting to cook breakfast for myself I picked up my handy fishing pole and a chair for my own
comfort. Fishing was most definitely my favorite activity of the day as this was the only time where I had
time for myself and just space out for a minute. I grilled the few fishes I caught on my makeshift grill and
had breakfast. Ever since I accepted the fact that I was stranded I realized that we take too much for
granted and nothing is guaranteed even tomorrow.
My days are usually uneventful as there is nothing for me to do. I've tried to do exercises but I haven't
gotten anywhere with that, so I decided to pick up meditating.
As I was practicing meditating during the late afternoon, I heard a honk, but I couldn't believe it.
Something or someone has come to help. Help had arrived.
