Introduction

Physical science is a branch of natural science that
studies non-living systems, in contrast to life science. It

in turn has many branches, collectively referred to as
Physical Science. It is a combination of Physics,
Chemistry, and Earth Sciences. Notable topics include:
Astronomy, Temperature, Atoms, Periodic Table, Types

of Matter, Solutions, Separation Techniques, and many more which
students will study in the first 3 years of MYP and then in Physics.

                                                   Lab Safety

Many laboratories contain significant risks, and the

prevention of laboratory accidents requires great care
and constant vigilance. Lab safety is an essential
process which is a part of following lab rules and
understanding safety symbols to conduct safe
                                     experiments with correct procedure.

Lab Rules – Lab rules are essential for
following the code of conduct in a

laboratory and will help keep you safe.
You must follow the rules in order to
keep yourself safe from harm and keep
others. Refer to the image on the right

and learn the lab rules which are
universally accepted and followed in all
labs. Also remember to never run and

use items without adult supervision as
some solutions in the lab are poisonous
and can be lethal if it comes in contact
with you. Also remember to put back all

equipment after use and cleaning up
after yourself. Learn these rules by
heart to use whenever in the lab.
