Drive size Comparison of piezo elements
The following drive sizes are necessary to apply the piezo
element:
Drive Torx® TorxPlus® LocTec® Internal hex Piezo element Piezo PMTS
Internal ≥ TX 30 ≥ IP 30 ≥ 30-LI ≥ SW 3 Low costs
load drive ≥ 5EP
External ≥ E5 not ≥ SW 3 Short delivery lead time
load drive available
Other drives on request Temperature-resistant
Temperature range Media-resistant
The temperature range is restricted by the piezo element Corrosion-resistant
used, as below:
Note: Depending on the application it is possible to make a special measuring head
to take variant measurements.
Piezo element Measurement range Area of application
Piezo –20°C to +80°C –20°C to +100°C
PMTS* –40°C to +180°C –270°C to +320°C
* Permanent Mounted Measurement range: Area of application:
Transducer System Recording measurement Resistance of piezo
signal elements / components
Screw materials Piezo PMTS: Permanent Mounted
Transducer System
The following screw materials can be qualified:
• Steel Source: Intelifast GmbH
• Aluminum
Processes carried out on the screw
To qualify and implement the ultrasound preload force
measurement the following mechanical processes need to be
made on the fasteners:
• Plane parallel surface at head
• Plane parallel surface at tip
• Apply piezo element
