                   Chapter 1: Introduction


                   Setup Procedures for Master Alarm


                                 Setting up the Master Alarm involves the following procedures:

                                   • Labeling (see “Master Alarm Labeling” on page 1-54)

                                   • Powering on (see “Master Alarm Power-Up” on page 1-60)
                                   • Configure by using one the following options:

                                      •   Front panel keys (see “Configuring the Master Alarm by Using the
                                          Front Panel” on page 1-63)

                                      •   Web pages (see “Configuring and Browsing the Master Alarm by
                                          Using the Web Pages” on page 1-72)


                   Master Alarm Labeling


                                 Tools required:   5/32" hex wrench
                                                   Labels (provided)
                                                   Input signal data table

                                 During the installation of the MedPlus TotalAlert™ Alarm Network, a data
                                 table should have been completed for the source input signals that are
                                 connected to the Master Alarm (see table 1-27 on page 1-55).

                                 1. If the input signal data table was not completed during the installation,
                                     complete it now by performing the following steps:
                                     a. Record the number of the terminal on the Breakout P.C. Board that
                                         each input is connected to.
                                     b. Record the type of input.

                                     c. Record the LED number that you want to light when that input has an
                                         alarm condition.

                                 NOTE:
                                 Each LED only accepts one type of gas or vacuum.

                                 When you are facing the front panel, the LEDs are numbered one through nine.
