PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL DRAFT 28/Feb/03

6.2 Setting up the Internet Interface
                                                                              Chapter 6: General Procedures

6.2 Setting up the Internet Interface

                              CAUTION:
Have the facility’s Information Systems personnel set up the Internet
interface. If the set up is done improperly, equipment may not perform
                              properly.

When the Internet interface is ready to be set up, have the facility’s
Information Systems personnel set it up.

                              CAUTION:
The Information Systems personnel should be notified before changing
any of the network settings. Changing the settings could keep the
                              equipment from working properly.

If changes to the Internet interface setup are needed, have the facility’s
Information Systems personnel make the necessary changes.

The Master Alarm Module and Area Alarm Network Communications Board
arrive ready for Ethernet communication on most networks by using either an
RS-232 serial connector (BP) or an RG-45 connector (BO) (see figure 6-5 on
page 6-12). The devices communicate by using TCP/IP on most office
                              networks.
