            Chapter 2 – The company

MAD Consultancy is a small but fascinating business that consists of a young, tightly knit group of passionate and
dedicated entrepreneurs. MAD Consultancy is specialized in developing software applications and offers a myriad of
related (online) services. The company is based in the Netherlands: more specifically the city Eindhoven and it was
founded by 3 young entrepreneurs in 2013. [1]

The portfolio of this company consists mainly of B2C auctions, e-mail and affiliate marketing, B2C e-commerce and social
matchmaking. The name MAD is derived from the first letter of the 3 company directors. The M derived from ‘Mahdi
Kazemi’, the A from ‘Andrej Kalinin’ and the D from ‘Deo Leter’. As you can derive from the name, MAD Consultancy also
provides advice concerning project in the fields of online business (i.e. e-marketing, ICT, web design, e-business and SEO).

The company consists of 5 full-time workers, each having their own function(s). That means the 3 company directors and
two full-time employees. The work that needs to be done is always well balanced between them and each has their own
responsibilities. Some of the functions within the company are: (web) designer, Front-end developer, e-marketer and
            back-end developer.

In addition to the full-time workers, MAD Consultancy has a few interns working at the company. The interns are from
different schools and studies, since MAD Consultancy has a foot in different fields of online business. Being a small
company, they have been able to provide the interns with a lot of guiding on a more personal level. This has led to an
environment that is great to work in, and it actively motivates the interns to work harder and learn more.
